Ebb&Flo
A NEW SOUND

ebb (eb) N. 1.The flow of the tide back toward the sea.
flow (flo) Vi. 1.To move as a liquid does. 2.To move gently and slowly. 3.To pour out.

Ebb&Flo consists of Marlin Ledin and Dane Hauser. Their music is made with a bass guitar and a drum set, [and occasionally guitar, or perhaps, a sitar). They don't write music, they make it.

"We don't sit down and say let's do this here and this here, everything just happens, or has happened. We do have form to our music though. We jam, and if there's a, good sounding part, we remember it and play it later. Eventually, from doing this alot, entire songs are formed. The more we do this, the more we want to play, it's a chain reaction. All this playing leads to developing skills. Skills such as communication skills. We can start jamming, change timing, get softer and louder, faster and slower, play different styles, end songs, etc. without planning ahead. Now we just need to improve these skills. It's the art of the jam, and it can take a lifetime to perfect. When we jam we play music, but when we practice we work on specific skills."

"I think our music is a mix of all our influences, plus our warped imagination. My list of influences goes on endlessly, but to name a few: Victor Wooten, Mike Gordon (of phish), Flea, Roger Waters, Trey Anastasio... Dane's influences are John Fishman, Carter Bueford, Danny Carry... This makes for a very unique sound."
